Hi! We are Keith and Diana Nutter. We enjoy visiting our “out of state” kids, camping, and kayaking. We have been doing home improvement & renovation projects together for years. We have led several Woodlawn Serve Day projects and Impact Massillon projects. Our heart is to use the gifts and talents God has blessed us with to pay it forward and bless others. 

We will meet at our house quarterly for pizza, or an outdoor cookout, to gather for fellowship. We meet on various days & times when community service projects arise. We also meet on random evenings when needed. We envision this group to be a year round ministry to be “on-call” to help others, as the Lord calls us. 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone.

Hello ladies! I’m Susan Ferguson. Margaret Slabach and I want to invite you to join us as we dive into a new study by Kelly Minter and 5 of her Bible teacher friends called When You Pray. We will be studying six prayers in the Bible that will inspire our own prayer lives, so that our faith can be strengthened. As the Switchfoot song says, “I want to thrive, not just survive” this year, and learning to walk closer with our Savior through going deeper in our prayer lives is a great way to do that! So, come join us (and bring a friend, if you’d like) as we adventure together, encourage each other, and dig into God’s best for us this fall. Also, in case we haven’t met before, here are a few fun facts about me. I’ve been married to my best friend, Ken, for almost 25 years. Hi! I’m Emily Murphy, wife of Sean Murphy (Preschool Director here at Woodlawn). I am a mom of three wonderful children ages 15, 12, and 7. It has been on my heart for a while now to start a community group for busy moms who are in desperate need of a “night out” for themselves. I know personally, as a mom, I have gone through times when I struggled with “mom guilt” and didn’t take time to refill my own cup. If you are finding it hard to make time for yourself or find yourself out of touch while conversing with other adults, then this may be the group for you! My vision here is to provide an opportunity for you to meet other moms, develop new friendships, share, and receive advice, have meaningful conversation, eat a meal without being interrupted, and have fun! We will be meeting every other Monday at various restaurants in the Canton/Belden/Strip area for dinner and fellowship. The curriculum we will be touching on is called Survival Guide to Motherhood by Karen Stubbs, which is available for free on Right Now Media. Study guides will be provided if desired. Meals will be at your own expense and this group is for moms only, no children.

Hello, my name is Judy Robinson. I live in Massillon and I’ve been married to Fred for 44 years. We’ve raised two children and are now empty nesters. Two big changes have happened in my life in the past year. I have recently retired from school administration, and I joined Woodlawn Church! I like to get outdoors, especially walking my dogs, two golden doodles. I am not athletic at all, so walking is about it for me! I am in awe at God’s beauty reflected in nature. I’m excited to combine walking with a bible study and I am hoping there are a few others who want to join me!

The Path Of Love – This is a walking bible study based upon the book The Path of Love by Becca Stevens. This group is intended for women who are interested in connecting with God and nature while walking together. Becca writes “This Bible study is an invitation to walk more often, with a renewed sense of spiritual grounding and kinship”.  The walk and study will last no longer than one hour each time the group meets.  Days and times can be flexible once we have a group so if adjustments are needed to fit your schedule, please sign up and we’ll figure it out together!

My name is Christyn Lantz and I would love to share life with you! Are you a woman who is a new or newer follower of Christ? Are you still trying to figure out your salvation? Or do you want to learn how to read your Bible and could use a little boost from a group of women? I won’t for a moment pretend to know all the answers, but I do know what it’s like to feel lost around people who seem to have it all figured out (psst, insider tip – no one has it all figured out!!). In this study, we’re going to try and understand the Bible, how it’s still relevant, how to comprehend it, how to apply it, and how to keep that hunger to learn what God has to say to us! Also, EAT! Each session, bring a snack or dish to share; and yes, it’s 100% ok if you swing by Meijer and pick up a box of cookies on the way because I GET IT! Or bring nothing but yourself! I have a huge heart for elementary girls building a foundation in Christ, finding out who God says they are and learning how to stand against peer pressure in a biblical way. In this group your daughters will learn how to study the Word and pray, while having fun doing it! One of the biggest things we are seeing with our students is their need for Godly friendships and my prayer is this group will provide that for them. Hi, my name is Ali Jarvis. I grew up at Woodlawn and became a member about two years ago. I volunteer in the children’s department and love being around kids; they are a blessing. I have been married for eight years and have a 5 year old girl, Arabella. In a world that prioritizes social media, and electronic relationships, I hope to help cultivate a loving godly community for your girls in our church. My prayer is that they will leave the group feeling refreshed and connected, armored to face what life throws at them through Christ-like, godly friendships. Hi Everyone! We are Jim & Margaret Slabach. We have been married 50+ years. We have 3 grown children and 10 multi-cultural grandchildren.  Jim is a self-employed carpenter/contractor who loves to garden and hunt. Margaret is basically a stay-at-home grandma who enjoys photography, reading and travel. She works in the church office on Tuesdays. She also helps facilitate classes at Hope & Healing. We’ve been attending Woodlawn Church for a few years now. We would love to connect with others who may be looking to create connections.

We are Tim and Rebecca Beitzel.  Becca and I have been married for 25 years and have 4 kids (Nolan 18, Evan and Owen 15 and Noelle 8).  We also have two spoiled french bulldogs (Bruley & Roxie). We’re excited about hosting a community group because we love to have fun!  We are calling our group, Adults Out of Order, because adulting is hard some days.  Wouldn’t you agree?  That’s why the focus of our group will be to have fun, build relationships with others, and learn more about Jesus to help us through those harder adulting days.  LOL!
